There are so many issues that contribute to the lack of diverse characters in YA fiction. Issues like race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and religiosity. The world we live in fosters ideas and mentalities that make it almost impossible for writers and readers to break away from the established norms.  In this section entitled News, I want to highlight some current events that embody some of these problems.
